The last ten years have been both good and bad as I suppose is true of many of us at this age. Lyle died in 1994 of mesethelioma, a cancer caused by asbestos which he had worked with 40 years ago. Our 5 daughters and 2 sons and 15 grandchildren (aged 4-23) are all making a difference in the world in their various walks of life. I am still working as an accountant at Rimrock Foundation in Billings and as my kids are scattered from California to Connecticut my travels are to visit them.

I was in Lincoln, Nebraska from April 1989 til November of 91. I went to California to get out of the cold and to check out the possibilities of operating a flea market enterprise which didn't work out, so found myself heading back to Glendive in May of 92 and stayed until I left again in September 97. This is my home now and I wish I had come here 47 years ago. I am a member of a senior bowling team and an associate member of the NW Montana Accordion Assoc. (dance music).

Don was ordained a Deacon in the Catholic Diocese of Joliet, Il in 1997, and both of us continue to be active at St. Anthony's in Frankfort. We've enjoyed being able to travel particularly to Europe, the Bahamas and Hawaii. Still Packer Fans in the middle of "Bear Country".....adjusting to retirement and Medicare, enjoying this whole life experience.

Jim retired in 1990 from Construction and I retired in 1991 as a bookkeeper for a School District. We thoroughly enjoy retirement! We both enjoy reading, traveling and our grandchildren and all their activities.

After high school I graduated from the School of Nursing in Miles City in 1956. I returned to Glendive and met my husband Jim. We have been married 42 years. We have 3 girls and 3 boys. The girls are all registered nurses. Daughter Laurie went on to become a Physicians Assistant and Michelle has been accepted in the Master program to become a Nurse Practitioner. Son Mike is an electrical engineer. Our oldest son has a convenience store between Laurel and Red Lodge and Tim, the youngest has a pet store in Laurel. We lived in Sidney 28 years in a vet practice and now live in Laurel since 1985.

I retired from the Burlington Northern Railway the fall of 1991, after nearly 40 years with the Northern Pacific and Burlington Northern. After living in various parts of the Country, we finished our careers in the Chicago area, living in Montgomery, Il for 10 yrs. 
We visit Montana often as our four adult children and three grandkids live in Billings.

I have 3 sons, Ron (45), Ken (42), and Dan (36) and 3 awsone grandsons. After Dale's death in 1984, I began devoting time to community services. I am active in my church, Emblem Club, River city Jazz Society, Bowling, and am Treasurer for Retired Public Employees' Assoc. Mom resides in a local skilled nursing facility, which occupies much of my time. I enjoy dancing, bowling and hope to get back to golfing soon. The highlight of every year is spending time with my family.

I lost my husband, Gil, unexpectedly in 1992, just as he was planning to sign up for retirement. I continued to work, retiring in April, 1998 after 33 and a half years for the same company. A fellow co-worker (Herman) and I have found companionship, and have traveled to Texas to visit my sister Alice in the winter and also to Corsicana to visit my brother Ralph. I have two daughters.

Harold has been retired for some time. I retired from the Bank of California and then went to work for the State of California, Real Estate Division as an Executive Assistant to a Governor appointee and retired in Dec., 1998. We then moved to a retirement community in Mesa, Arizona. We do a lot of traveling to Europe, Mexico, Canada as well as the United States. Harold has 1 daughter and 2 grandchildren. I have a son, Kevin and two grandchildren. We spend a few weeks every year traveling to fun places with our grandchildren.

We are both retired and have done some traveling to several of the western states. We enjoy having large family reunions and I do a lot of quiet making time for the grandkids and crafts. Howard does a lot of woodworking and I supervise. We both do agate work.

I was married in 1954 and worked for the telephone company in Glendive prior to that. I was divorced in 1971 and remain single. I was employed 27 years with TCI Cable in Billings and retired in 1998. I have been very involved in bowling since 1970. I was recently inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame for Meritorious Service.

Iris and I have been married 46 years this June. We have 5 children, 11 grandchildren, plus 2 step grandchildren. Curt retired on a Friday in 1997 after 41 years with Milne Implement and returned to work on Monday and takes time of for the many ball games and musical events the grandchildren participate in.

Unlike most everyone our age, we are not retired. We do try to take a few trips during the winter months. Two of our grandkids live in Glendive, so we enjoy them and going to their activities. We will celebrate our 47th wedding anniversary in February.

My husband Joe was diagnosed on Oct. 3rd, 1997 with lung cancer and on March 2nd, 1998 we lost him. Needless to say my whole world changed. I have a large family who help me and support me. I still live and work part time in Billings. I spend a lot of time in Glendive since my folks still live on a farm on Deer Creek.

After graduation I landed a career as a domestic engineer. I married "Captain" Earl Will and raised 4 crew members. When the crew got older, we bought a Beauty Salon. That kept me more than busy. At age 46, I went back to school and got my manicurist license. Now we have 7 shipmates and I'm still married to the same old "Captain" It's been quite a life.

Our time has been spent raising 4 daughters and grandparenting eight darlings! That being the primary, best and most challenging job we've undertaken. Added to that were 2 non-English speaking South American exchange students who became an important and fun part of the clan. We've traveled some (not nearly enough), and worked in thousands of ball games. Of late it has been the computer that has presented the most challenge. Also I like to cook, garden and read. Having coffee is right up there also!

We managed Mobilhome Parks in California for almost 18 years. We spent much of our spare time enjoying our 5 children and 9 grandchildren. In 1993 we bought a home in Glendive and 1996 we retired and moved back home and spent the next 2 years remodeling it. We like to garden, fish and visit with friends. We miss our California families.

After residing in Libby for 28 years, I returned to Glendive in 1995. I have discovered the 'joys' of being a home owner--painting, repairing and working in the yard. I enjoy taking a few courses at the college each year. For the past four years I have volunteered with the DCHS tennis program. We've had a great bunch of kids and I have truly enjoyed the experience.

We continued to fly 747's for United Airlines until we retired in 1996, after 28 years. Jeanette and I spent a year in Honolulu when United opened up a 747 base there. Jeanette accompanied me on many of my trips to various destinations. I started taking piano lessons in '97 after a 50 yr layoff. Really do enjoy this. In '98 we bicycled through Austria and parts of Germany. Last year I bought a new Harley Heritage Softtail motorcycle and plan to do a lot of riding. We also drive truck for our church's Food Bank.

Wow! Another 10 years have gone by! After retirement Dan and I took up that silly game of golf and it consumes much of our time. We love it. We try to go to St. George, Ut for a month in the winter to golf. Both of my parents are still in their own home and they celebrated their 70th wedding ann. in April. Much of my time is spent with them. Our 4 kids and grandkids are scattered about and do enjoy their visits and our visits to their homes. We especially enjoy their sporting and musical events.

Ernie retired from Civil Service as a research meteorologist for the Army at White Sands Missile Range in 1989. Marilyn volunteered with the local hospital aux. as assistant manager of the gift shop until 1995. Since retirement we both spend time volunteering as reading mentors for the local elementary school. We have been active square dancers for over 20 yrs. and Ernie a part time caller for 15 yrs. After singing with a local men's chorus for over 20 years, Ernie is now a charter member of the Las Cruces New Horizons Band, a beginning band for seniors. He plays the Baritone horn.

I took early retirement in May of 1994 due to health problems. After retirement we sold our home and lived in our travel trailer while serving as park hosts from 1 to 3 months at parks around the state. We built a new home in 1996. We keep busy enjoying our children and grandchildren. I make homemade wine as a hobby.

We have two children, Michelle a violinist, teaches violin in the school system and also at her own academy. Glenn is a computer specialist and avid golfer sports nut. Gary and I have traveled extensively to the Caribbean islands, Central American and Europe. I did a lot of volunteer work in hospitals. Now I'm retired and hardly even cook anymore!

Carmen and I lived and worked in Calif for 25 years. I was in Banking and Carmen in insurance. We retired early and moved to Billings for 2 years. We took a seasonal position with KOA Campgrounds, working 3 months in the summer and 2 in the winter. They provided us with a new RV unit and we traveled the US and Canada as Quality Control Inspectors. We moved to Tucson in 1992. Retired from KOA in 1996. We like Tucson and the southwest.

Jim and I started our life together in Seattle. He worked 1 year for Boeing before moving back to Glendive where he worked for his Dad for 15 years. Then we bought Gate City Electric. He later worked for BNSF for 11 years and retired from there in June, 1999. We have 8 children and 20 grandchildren.
